Pensacola Launches $1 Million Street Repaving Plan
Pensacola is kicking off a major repaving project, aiming to spend up to $1 million annually on city streets, starting with those in the worst condition. The focus will be on streets scored as "serious" and "very poor" in a 2023 pavement condition study, with some adjacent "poor" blocks also included. The work begins in the southwest part of the city in September 2024 and will later shift to the northeast.
Residents can view a SPREADSHEET of the streets included in the Fiscal Year 2024 and 2025 work orders and explore a map with a focus on the Seville Square Historic District showing PCI scores and highlighted blocks slated for repair. Final street selections will depend on actual costs, and streets labeled "very poor" in grey are earmarked for resurfacing in future projects within the next five years.
