Gregory St. Resurfacing Project

This August, the Florida Department of Transportation will begin a $2.8 million resurfacing project on U.S. 98 (Gregory Street), from North Palafox Street to east of 14 Avenue in Escambia County.  

Additional work will include:

• Lighting improvements from west of Tarragona Street to 14th Avenue.

• Signalization upgrades.

• Sidewalk and crosswalk improvements, including Americans with Disabilities Act upgrades.

• Stormwater management enhancements. 

During construction, drivers and pedestrians may encounter periodic detours, lane closures and minor traffic shifts. Lane closures will be limited to 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.  

This project is estimated for completion in early 2025.

All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
